The Dimon mansion used to sit on the property of the Jamesport Manor Inn before burning down in 2005. The Dimon mansions was owned by John Dimon, who built some of the first clipper ships in New York City during the American Revolution. Owers of the Jamesport Manor Inn wanted to rebrand the winery to a more nautical theme to pay homage to John Dimon and the mansion.
